I saw this post last night and I don’t know who she is, but she is 1000% correct!
Recruiters,
Stephanie Dolan
Do you want to know what the most frustrating part of the job search is?
Well, I’ll tell you – and you’re probably assuming it’s things like the highly manual application processes, the long and drawn-out interviews, or the lack of pay transparency.
It’s not these things. And in fact, it’s an easy one to address and fix.
It’s the “thanks but no thanks” accompanied by absolutely zero feedback. And not just after an initial recruiter call, but after several conversations and multiple rounds of interviews.
Candidates should know WHY they are not moving forward to the offer stage. If we’ve made it that far, pick up the phone and explain what it boiled down to. We’ve invested hours in the process and deserve to get feedback.
